Mountain Flour was created in 2001 to fill a need in the Vail Valley for high-quality, fresh and delicious wedding cakes in this wonderfully gorgeous and popular wedding event location. Since opening, we have gained a reputation for providing the most beautiful and delectable wedding cakes throughout the Rocky Mountains.
After graduating from Kendall College School of Culinary Arts, Shawn Smith trained and studied at Chicago's finest restaurants and hotels. Upon his arrival in Vail in 1997, Shawn became the Head Pastry Chef at The Lodge at Vail. In addition to his phenomenal wedding cake creations, Shawn bakes many of the desserts you'll enjoy at restaurants throughout the Vail Valley and makes outstanding gelato and sorbet that is distributed to restaurants throughout Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.
Even sweeter than his delicious desserts are Shawn's wife Allana, son Matthew and daughters Nina, Addison and Jude. This happy team is what inspires Shawn to ensure that every item that comes out of the Mountain Flour kitchen puts an enormous smile on your face
