Mountain Flour was created in 2001 to fill a need in the Vail Valley for high-quality, fresh and delicious wedding cakes in this wonderfully gorgeous and popular wedding event location. Since opening, we have gained a reputation for providing the most beautiful and delectable wedding cakes throughout the Rocky Mountains.
The Chef
After graduating from Kendall College School of Culinary Arts, Shawn Smith trained and studied at Chicago's finest restaurants and hotels. Upon his arrival in Vail in 1997, Shawn became the Head Pastry Chef at The Lodge at Vail. In addition to his phenomenal wedding cake creations, Shawn also bakes many of the desserts you'll enjoy at restaurants throughout the Vail Valley and Aspen.
The Businessman
Mountain Flour's President, Patrick Russo, is a veteran of top-of-the-line restaurants, having worked in various capacities for some of the area's finest establishments, including Larkspur and Red Sky Ranch's Silver Sage. A graduate of Colorado State University, Patrick has spent most of his life in this beautiful state, and now lives in Eagle with his wife Stefanie and son Sam.
